The Science of Ground Water Workshop | Lakewood, CA | May 6, 2017
LOS ANGELES AREA EDUCATORS! More than a decade ago, The Water Replenishment District of Southern California (WRD) set out on a monumental mission - to replenish the region's groundwater basins without using a single drop of water imported from Northern California's Bay Delta or the Colorado River, while continuing to provide reliable, high quality water for 43 cities and 4 million residents in our 420 square mile service area. Come spend a day with the largest groundwater agency in the State of California and Project WET for a FREE workshop to learn how we are reaching this goal. You’ll have an opportunity to interact with a hydro-geologist and water operations manager, tour a state of the art water treatment facility, an opportunity to apply for 0.8 CEU through CSU San Marcos - and walk away with activities that will help connect real-life science with NGSS and Common Core back into your classrooms! Breakfast and lunch are also included!! There is a $20 registration fee that will be refunded upon completion of the workshop. Please e-mail Angie Piert at firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
