A River of Empire Workshop | Irvine, CA | October 5 & November 2, 2019

ORANGE COUNTY AREA EDUCATORS! Join Project WET and UC South Coast for a watershed investigation as we venture from source to sea along the Colorado River, SoCal’s “River of Empire.” In day one of this two-day workshop, you’ll experience remote sensing & field investigations to examine the relationship between the Colorado river system and the management of water supplies in the Orange Empire. Day two, we pivot and use a systems approach to consider how human choices intersect with natural systems in the coastal oceans.

Participants will receive award-winning resources from Project WET and California Coastal Commission, a field experience at UC South Coast’s agricultural research facility in Orange County, experience applying NGSS learning outside, access to new Project WET standard pools and an opportunity to receive CEU credit– all for a $45 registration fee.
