Increase your ability to teach about water and its connection with our daily lives. This is a Facilitator level Project WET workshop. After completion of the course individuals will be certified to teach Project WET 2.0 and Healthy Water Healthy People curriculum. Upon completion of the homework, individuals will be certified to facilitate workshops for other teachers in the Project WET family of curricula.
The day’s focus will be on Healthy Water Healthy People which is intended for grades 6th – 12th formal, non-formal and pre-service educators and is designed to raise the awareness and understanding of water quality issues and their relationship to personal, public and environmental health. Healthy Water Healthy People will help educators address science standards through original, interactive activities that link priority water quality topics to real-life experiences of educators and students.
Participants will receive the Healthy Water Healthy People Water Quality Educators Guide as well as the Field Monitoring Guide with in-depth information about ten water quality parameters, the monitoring guide answers questions about water quality testing using technical overviews, data interpretation guidelines, case studies, chemical formulas, laboratory demonstrations and much more. Additionally participants will receive the new Project WET 2.0 Curriculum and Activity Guide and online support portal.
7.5 Act 48 hours will be available.
There is only one facilitator level workshop held each year for formal, pre-service and non-formal educators in the state and this is it! A great way to upgrade from the “white” Project WET book to the new blue 2.0 guide at a great price. Normally facilitator workshops cost $70 or more.
