COSUMNES RIVER REGION EDUCATORS! K-12 educators join us this summer for the Floodplain Ecology Institute to enhance your knowledge, skills, and tools to engage students. Our local environment becomes the integrating context to learn about interrelationships between Earth systems, ecosystem interrelationships, and human interactions with the natural world. This FREE institute includes field experiences exploring regional floodplains with biologists and engineers, curriculum resources – including Project WET Guide 2.0 - for teaching NGSS, Common Core ELA and history/ social science in the context of current water issues; planning time with grade level peers to translate your learning to the classroom and opportunities to receive CEU credit through CSU Chico and a $200 stipend following completion of the training in December.
