Project WET Workshop | Vallejo, CA | May 2, 2015
The Solano County Water Agency, School Water Education Program (SWEP) and Vallejo Water Division invite Solano County K-12 educators to attend this workshop. Participants will experience the great, ‘hands-on’ activities of Project WET (Water Education for Teachers), while learning about the impact of current water issues on Solano County water resources - and how the Project WET activities will engage student learning in concepts, skills and core knowledge at the core of our current water issues, as well as the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.
The interdisciplinary Project WET activities are effective tools for integrating student knowledge of water resources through the study of real-life scenarios, simple models and simulations that provide strong foundations for STEAM and Service-Learning programs. This workshop will maximize participant time engaged in activities and each participant will walk away with access to over 100 classroom teacher tested activities to study the current drought, water conservation measures for home or school and the new standards. Free for all Solano County classroom teachers and afterschool program educators - with breakfast, lunch and a personal copy of Project WET Guide 2.0 included!
