Since 2000, Levi Strauss & Co. (LS&Co.) has sponsored Community Day, an annual global day of service, where employees in 70 office locations around the world organize and participate in volunteer activities. For this year's 15th anniversary of the service day, LS&Co. is focusing on water conservation and preservation, in part through a new pilot program with the Project WET Foundation.
Working together, LS&Co. and Levi's developed custom water education materials focused on water conservation for three Levi's markets: San Francisco, Singapore and Shanghai. Levi's employees were trained to use the materials earlier this spring, and Community Day marks the first time employees will go into classrooms to teach this curriculum in a San Francisco elementary school.
We're excited to be working with Levi's on this important day. Water is an issue that’s going to take public, private and community partnership to make a collective impact. LS&Co. is a recognized leader in this space, and their commitment to us confirms that companies who are leading in the sustainability space understand the value of educating children about water.
