Fiesta! Santa Fe Students Gather to Learn About Water

Santa Fe Students attending the Children's Water Fiesta in September 2015Santa Fe Public Schools 4th grade students came for a fun-filled day of learning about water at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center at the end of September. Fiesta activities covered a wide range of core curriculum areas including language arts, math, science, social studies, visual arts, and health & wellness. Presenters demonstrated water related facts, concepts and values through fun, hands-on learning activities (many of which are based on Project WET curriculum).

•    624 students (28 classes) from 10 different schools in the Santa Fe Public School (SFPS) system attended.
•    Each class rotated through 5 of 13 or 14 of the different activities presented each day.
•    18 organizations (federal, state, county, city, non-profit) participated in the event; as presenters and other volunteers, as well as providing the facilities.
