Missouri

Drawing its waters from the far northern United States as well as much of the Eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains, the Missouri is a highly diverse river that encompasses a broad range of ecological and cultural zones. In its southern waters, catfish and other warm-water dwellers may be found. Further north, cold-water trout fill its tributaries. Throughout its course, the water it carries brings life to the surrounding territory; watering crops, providing for river-based transportation, bringing water for homes, and serving industrial purposes.
