Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) International Foundation, UNESCO-International Hydrologic Program, Mexican Institute for Water Technology, Taiwan International Institute for Water Education

Purpose:
To highlight the importance of water education to successfully implement integrated and sustainable water resources management and to present a variety of water education programs which can serve as models for agencies and organizations interested in water education for youth and children.

Format and timeline:
Panel Discussion with a chairperson (Dennis Nelson) as moderator

  1. Chair welcomes guests and introduces the presenter and expert panels (2 minutes)
  2. Chair gives an introduction to water education for children and youth (8 minutes)
  3. Presenters (6) share their local actions (8 minutes each plus 2 transitions, 60 minutes total)
  4. Expert Panelists respond to presentations (5 minutes each, 20 minutes total)
  5. Written questions from the audience are addressed by the panels (25 minutes)
  6. Chair summarizes the session and closing comments (5 minutes)
